SACRED NAME MOVEMENT

THE REDEEMER’S NAME (Author Unknown)

From Royal antecedent unto a lowly birth,

at David’s farm in Bethlehem, the Messiah came to earth.

A group of wise men bearing gifts foretold the Messiah’s fame

His Father in the heavens said “Yahshua is my name.”

So call me no more baalim for Yahshua is my name

The names of baalim take it away for they have brought you shame

And I will be your husband, no longer call me LORD

For that has NEVER BEEN MY NAME ACCORDING MY WORD…

Yahweh/Yahshua

Yahweh [יהוה]

Yahweh is the Supreme Deity of the Universe.  He is the Almighty El, the Creator and the Sustainer of the heaven, the earth and all things therein.  However, through translation of the scripture from its original text to English, Yahweh’s name was changed to Lord, (which by the way was a Middle Age English title, not a name).  In 1603, King James IV of Scotland ascended to the throne of England as King James I and commissioned a group of religious scholars to propose a new translation of the Holy Scriptures that would be acceptable to the entire Church – “that the scripture may speak like it selfe, as in the language of Canaan, that it may be understood.”  The Royal Family History, King James (1603-1625).  However, we cite to scripture below that clearly confirms that Yahweh never intended for his name to be changed.

His Memorial.  Exod.3:14-15.  Moses asked Yahweh “what is your name?”  He inquired because he knew the children of Israel would want to know the name of the El who sent him to them.  In other words, under whose authority, would Moses deliver them from Egypt.  And Elohim said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM [or in the Hebrew, ehyeh asher ehyeh, which means I will be what/who I will be.  Ehyeh is the future tense of the Hebrew verb “hayah” which means to exist or be].  And Elohim said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, YAHWEH Elohim of your fathers, El of Abraham, El of Isaac, El of Jacob, has sent me unto you: this is my name forever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.

His Glory.  Isa.42:8.  I am Yahweh that is my name and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.  In the first two commandments Yahweh admonishes us not to put any deity before him and not to worship any graven images.  He describes himself as a Jealous Elohim/Zealous Elohim [El Kannah].  If I am not putting Yahweh first, if I am not honoring him above all including people, if I am not calling him by his name, I am giving his glory to another.

Yah: Family Name.  Psa.68:4.  The not-so-diligent translators let this one slip through.  We see the family name, Yah, recorded in the Psalms in the King James version of the Bible.  At Psalms 68, verse 4 it reads “Sing unto to Elohim, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name JAH and rejoice before him.”  This should read “YAH.”  See Strong’s Concordance of the Bible, No. 3050.  Remember there is no letter “J” in Hebrew and the English language did not have a letter “J” until 1633.  See The Cambridge History of the English Language, Cambridge University Press, p.39 (1992); English Grammar, Charles Butler (1633).

My People.  II Chron.7:14.  Yahweh says his people are called by his name.  Isaiah 43:7 (Even everyone that is called by my name for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him).

Strong Tower.  Prov.18:10.  The name of Yahweh is a strong tower, the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.  In other words, in his name, we have protection.  The strong tower is more than a watch tower.  It was located within the walls of the city, well-fortified, stocked with food and water and had plenty of space to sleep lots of people.  It was elevated and well-equipped to fight off the enemy.  Judges 9:51 (But there was a strong tower within the city, and thither fled all the men and women, and all they of the city, and shut it to them, and gat them up to the top of the tower), II Chron.26:15 (And he made in Jerusalem engines, invented by cunning men, to be upon the towers and upon the bulwarks to shoot arrows and great stones withal).

His Seal.  Rev.7:3-9, 14:1, 16:9.  In Revelations, the four angels which are holding back the winds of destruction are told not to hurt “the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our Elohim in their foreheads.”  He sealed 12,000 out of each of the twelve tribes of Israel with the Name of the Father, YAHWEH, in their forehead.  This is an organized movement to restore the Sacred Name of Yahweh.  Remember he looked again and saw a number that no man could number (of all nations, kindreds, people and tongues/languages).  The 144,000 stood on Mount Zion with the Lamb of Yah, Yahshua.  The purpose of this movement is to bring all to the knowledge of Yahweh and his son Yahshua.  Why?  The plagues are coming and his name has power over the plagues!  Rev.16:9. (…and blasphemed the name of Yahweh, which hath power over the plagues; and they repented not to give him the glory).

Yahshua [יהשׁוּע]

Yahshua is the only begotten son of Elohim, conceived of the Holy Spirit and born to the virgin Miriyam.  He is the Messiah, sent from Yahweh to be the Savior and Redeemer.  Here is what the scriptures say concerning our savior’s birth.

[19] Now the birth of Yahshua HaMasheach/The Messiah was on this wise:  When as his mother Miriyam/Mary was espoused to Yosef/Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit/Ruach HaKodesh.  [19] Then Yosef her husband being a just man, and not willing make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily.  [20] But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of Yahweh appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Yosef, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Miriyam thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Ruach HaKodesh.  [21] And she shall bring forth a son and thou shalt call his name YAHSHUA: for he shall save his people from their sins.

Matt.1:19-21.  Hence, he is called Yahshua or Yah’s salvation.  Why?  For he shall save his people.  Yah [#3050] plus t’shua [#8668=deliverance, help, safety, salvation, victory] is his name, Yahshua.

Father’s Name.  John 5:43.  Yahshua said, “I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not” BUT “if another come in his own name, him ye will receive.” How profound.  He did not come in the name of Jesus.  How could he?  If he came in another name, it would not be his father’s name.  It is hard to understand how many are willing to accept the name of the Father, Yahweh, but vehemently reject the name of his son, Yahshua {Yah’s Salvation}.  When I reject Yahshua’s name, I reject Yah’s Salvation.  Remember to whom much is given, much is required.  Luke 12:48.  I am accountable for my level of knowledge.  If I know his name but refuse to call him by it, I am rejecting the cornerstone.  I Peter 2:4-8.

No Other Name.  Acts 4:10-12.  The Apostle Peter/Keyfa speaking by the Holy Spirit to the Rulers and Elders of Israel when they enquired as to how the impotent man was healed, responded

[10] Be it know unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Yahshua HaMasheach of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom Yahweh raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.  [11] This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.  [12] Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

We note that the Rulers and Elders acknowledged that a miracle was witnessed by many in Jerusalem and that it was performed in the name of Yahshua.  We further note that the Rulers and Elders did not threaten the Apostles by commanding them not to speak of the miracle; rather the command was not to speak or teach in the name of Yahshua.  But of course, the Apostles and Disciples of Yahshua were not deterred by the threat.  Instead they prayed,

[29] Yahweh behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word. [30] By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of the holy child Yahshua.  [31] And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spake the word of Yahweh with boldness.

Acts.4:29-31.  Clearly, the name of Yahshua has been under attack since he walked the earth as the word made flesh.  John 1:14.

Hebrew Tongue.  Acts 9:1-5.  The scriptures advise that as Saul journeyed on the road to Damascus/Darmesek, Syria in order to capture disciples of Yahshua and bring them bound to Jerusalem, a light shined round about him, he fell to the earth and heard a voice say, “Shaoul/Saul, Shaoul/Saul why persecutes thou me?  And when Saul inquired as to with whom he was speaking, the voice replied, “I am Yahshua whom thou persecutest…”  Paul clearly states in Acts 26 that he heard the voice identify himself in the Hebrew tongue saying, “Anochi Yahshua [I am Yahshua].”  He could not have heard the voice say Jesus.  Remember there is no letter “J” in the Hebrew alphabet.  As a matter of fact there was no letter “J” in any language until around 1500 A.D. and there was no “J” in the English language until 1633 A.D.  Gian Giorgio Trissano’s Epistle in German, (1524), English Grammar, Charles Butler (1633) (first English book published to use the letter “J”).

Honor His Name.  Col.3:17.  We are admonished that whatsoever we do in word or deed, we never compromise his name – do it all in the name of Yahshua HaMasheach, giving thanks to Elohim and the Father by him.  We also are instructed to never compromise his name for the work or the message.  We are to remember he is the work and he is the message, the two are inseparable.

Jesus.  What about the name of Jesus?  From where does it come?  In the Greek, Jesus is Iesous [#2424, Strong’s Greek Concordance, pronounced “ee-ay-soos”] and in Latin, it is Iesus, pronounced “hay-soos.”  Remember there is no “J” in the Hebrew, Greek or Latin languages.  In fact there was no letter “J” until around 1500 A.D.  In the 1611 original version of the King James Bible, the name of Jesus is not included.  Why?  Because at that time there was no letter “J.”  The Bible states that everyone should be “persuaded in his own mind” – not by your own mind but in your own mind.  Rom.14:5.  What is the difference?  We invite you to read the following reference materials and ponder what is said concerning the letter “J” and the name of “Jesus.”
